"Am I supposed to reveal the secret of the entire article in the summary? May be ethically, I am not supposed to do that but I will do for the reader’s convenience. The secret is the presence of hunting dogs for the success of your hunting trip. They might not seem to be carrying much potential but they prove their worth on the field."

The success of any hunting trip, especially pheasant hunts, depends a great deal on the kind of hunting dog you are dealing with. It can either make your trip one of joy or of misery. There are many types available like Labradors, Retrievers, spaniels etc for hunting pheasants.

Hunting dogs can help you hunt ducks, dove and turkeys. The already trained dogs are always a preference so as to leave no chance of ruining your trip. How does it happen with the hunting dogs? Their tension keeps increasing when the pheasants are nearby. The scent is picked up by them and once the concerned bird is located, the dog will lock in there. After that, the hunter carries the sole responsibility for further consequences.

The choice of the breed of the dog for the purpose of Pheasants hunts is a personal preference and the latter must be taught obedience. The level of obedience should reach a stage where the concerned dog can read the mind of his master and respond as quickly as possible.

In the recent times, it has become a trend to make use of the hunting dogs. Coyote hunting is also in the line. There are different choices regarding the choice of the breed. Some find American Staghound as the best and others are referring to Plott Hound. I would say that it all depends upon the kind of dog, the kind of training he gets and lastly his behaviour with his master.

Apart from the hunting dogs, many other factors are odourless hunter, choice of gun, camouflage pattern and the way of calling. Coyotes are very perceptive animals and if you forget to remove your scent, they will be able to sense your presence from a considerable distance. Guns are another factor and totally a personal choice. Usually, experienced hunters use Mini bolt 2.2 or Big Boy special editions. Movement also makes a difference. Make as less movement as possible. Don’t let your animal to be hunted know if you are there in the nearby distance or not.

Camouflage pattern also makes a difference. Try sitting near the trees or bushes so that there are minimal chances of being spotted. Calling, on the other hand, must be kept at the medium level. Have patience and your hunt will be fruitful. Each hunter has different style. Some go for mouth blowing and some for electronic calls.

These tips are very helpful while you are out in the wilderness hunting for coyotes and pheasants.
